How We Work

Haulmont was formed from a desire to work in partnership with the team in Samara, the company is emphatically not an outsourcing business. Historically western companies have utilised Russian programmers as a resource to develop ‘to task’, instead we work as equal partners to utilise the highly skilled, highly motivated and extremely cost effective Russian development community.

Our development centre in Samara works in tandem with our UK office to manage all aspects of solution design and implementation. The company is jointly managed and we are in constant contact across both offices. Samara has a rich history of scientific innovation and boasts some of Russia’s best universities, creating a skilled pool of talented developers from which Haulmont draws its staff. With a tradition for technological expertise that dates back to the Second World War when Russia began its space and missile programs in Samara, the region has become a hotbed for computer programming and technological excellence.

The Haulmont team works hard to make our developers feel like an extension of our client companies, we offer English classes to all our developers and wherever possible we take clients from the UK and Europe to visit their teams in Russia, as well as encouraging daily contact via Skype. In 2010 Haulmont established a corporate flat in Pimlico, London where our developers stay whilst working for UK clients and this is an important part of our offering to Russian staff.
